Why do I *NEED* to be married? Why does a civil union just not cut it? I couldn’t put it more accurately than this:
EDITED FOR CLARITY: I do not plan on getting married any time soon. W and I are not ready for that, but when the time comes that we want to, a MARRIAGE is what I want, not a civil union.
